Hi All,
When I look at pictures of the routes and highways in the United States, man they look awesome roads. Not only the roads are great but the spectacular scenery! What I would like to know is what are your favourite highways? Ones in the Arizona desert must be awesome? And is it true that Nevada in parts have no speed limits?
Cheers

Montana used to have no speed limits, i'm not sure about now. Guess I could ask my friend, his wife is from up there. The highways are alright, some states they are as rough as a dirt road. Last poll I saw, truckers said that Tennessee highways were among the best. I'm from there, and they are pretty nice, but the local roads suck.
I think my favorite have to be the local highways in Missouri

The old trans-continental highway... driven part of it. It's okay. Too many tourist traps for my tastes.

There are a lot of scenic highways in the country but I think Colorado has the most and best.
And don’t strain your eyes looking for guard rails
The best scenes are on the Colorado Forest 4x4 trails. In the picture below is my ‘99 Frontier at over 12,000 feet and still climbing. The place is called Corkscrew Gulch and is between Silverton and Ouray Colorado
Have a good one and CUL.. Don S..

Man, that looks spectacular!
Here is one from our country, located in the South island. With a one-lane bridge on the route!

i found that most highways down south are pretty bad, i20e/w in general for example is pretty crappy --- from texas into lousyana and miss.. up here in ohio and most of 75n/s are pretty good from what i noticed..i70e/w is decent too.
my 2 cents..

Yeah, our road quality here is shocking. The frequent wet weather deteriorates the roads. The repairs done are crap and they never seem to fix the problems!
Something else I wanted to know, what is your open speed limit? Ours here are 100kph (63mph). In Australia they have certain areas of 110kph.

i would say 80% of our interstate highways are 75mph --- a couple of states still have the highways at 65mph.. through cities that speed varies...55mph usually.
ive never been on an unrestricted highway here in the states--- i hear up north in montana or the dakotas its unrestricted but does have a speed limit...not too sure though.
cheers!
