I am going to be ordering my new '07 Fronty April 1 and I have a question about the audio system.

Is it worth the extra $$$ to go with the RF upgrade or can I get a better/equivalent sytem for less money aftermarket?

I noticed the RF has 6 speakers while the base has 4 speakers.  Is it easy to install the extra two speakers in the blank spots?

I normally error on the side of DIY but if the RF is a kickin' good system, I may just pony up the money and forget about it.

Also, I am impressed more by clean natural sound that can be enjoyed at 80mph with all the windows down than I am with big bass or the highest highs.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Trout

RF is a decent company, but you can find better for the same money or less.

Remember, Neither RF or Nissan is going to throw in the system for $$$, and NOT make a decent profit on it.

My advice, look around, figure out how much of a system you do want.  Then don't skimp on the $$$ for it.  That's the number one mistake most people make.  They spend less to begin with, but push the system beyond it's limits.  Then have to spend more money to keep replacing it, because they think it costs less.  Little do they realize they could have spent that one amount to begin with, and had that system last for years.

Also though, for the less money, I'm talking about companies like Pyramid and Road Gear.  You can spend decent money on a decent system.  I had a set of RF Punch Zs that lasted 3 years for me, and another 2.5 for my friend.  And those are RF's lowest line for the Punch series.

just because its the rf factory system doesnt mean its rockford quality. An aftermarket rockford system would sound a lot better than a factory one. Even like the bose or infinity systems (which are junk) dont compare to aftermarket.

I just bought my truck (O7 Frontier KC SE) a few weeks ago.  I also have the 4-speaker system and would like to put speakers in the dash. Does anyone know if the wiring is already there to the radio?  If it is then it should be relatively easy to put them in if not, then you also would have to run wires to the receiver.

Does anyone have any information that may help out?

Thanks in advance,

Ken

This is the best and least expensive way that you can add great sound for your buck.  I replaced the doors speakers with 6 X 9 Infinity speakers, put a downforce sub 10" dual voice coil behind the passenger seat, placed a 900 watt Kenwood Excellon 4 channel amp behind the drivers seat (removed the jump seat and mounted it where the jump seat was).  I have a Eclipse head unit in the dash.  Run the front channel to the 6 X 9's and the rear channel to the sub, leave the rear door speakers connected to the receivers rear speaker for fill.  You wil love how it sounds.  Depending on the head unit you buy you should be able to get all this for under $800.  If you have any questions on it email me.

I have an 06 and the wires for the tweeter were already there. They are taped in the tweeter holes. I did not even have to screw them in. Just popped them in and put the covers back on. Make a nice difference too.
