I was thinking, why isn't there anything in here about a Frontier vs a Ford?
I'll tell you why, Even the 05 fords are pieces... Ford doesn't hold a candle to Nissan. I think the whole vs. section could be pulled, there is no competition.

Besides... I think this could be a area where a lot of trouble could be stirred up. We could end up with someone who is an avide Toyota fan or something. Bought the Frontier just because they liked it.
Get their panties all ni a twist because we're talking smack about their company. And end up with a big smack fest back and forth...
lets keep it around j/k.
Anyway... since we're talking about rivals... I want to hear everyones opinion on the new Honda pickup.
insert "it's " here.

The new Honda doesn't even come close to any of the Nissan pick-ups. It has very low ground clearance, poor payload and low towing capacity and it looks like a box truck nightmare straight from Hell...
I saw a show about it on speed channel about two weeks ago, eventhough it was OK for the highway, it (sucked) did poorly on the off-road test... and no matter how hard they try...it will never, never look anything like this....

Maybe if it gone into a horrible accident that completely changed the body lines... on second thought... it won't come close to looking like our trucks

I would like to know what Honda was thinking? Of course, I sincerely believe that companies have a devotion for releasing trash.
I'm glad I bought a truck can actually perform (mildly) stock. I know that Herk can agree with that.
I Don't think anyone is going to be able to compete with Nissan in the future, the VQ Engines are power houses and the F- Alpha chassis is extremely strong. Hell, even up to the 05 Frontier, I believe these trucks are great machines.
When I was out at Barnwell Mountain for example, I don't think little Herk didn't fail at any attempt on a run... round of applause for Nissan.

You know... I actualy asked a guy once why there was so many parts out for Hondas.
He told me they're the easiest and cheapest thing to make fast. I laughed, and told him the industry knows a hunk of junk when they see one... and morons who will pay for parts that routinely break.
Point in case... Engines are so cheap for Hondas, because of the such high demand from people blowing them up.

Isn't that the truth... Not to mention most Honda folks are obsessed with the whole J-spec thing... sure buy an engine from Japan and see what happens...

The only JDM engine that is worth getting is the H22A. There is a difference between the american spec and J-spec for that engine.
There has been only 2 hondas I've ever liked.
1. was my old neighbor's back in TN. Looked really nice, and he never tried to race it.
2. was my co-worker's. He built up a all-motor hatchback that was whooping butt. His is the only honda here in town that has actually beat my Maxima.

I have to say that no other truck comes close to meeting the look of the fronty. Mine is an 01 crew. Although you must admit that Honda engineering does well. My 01 is a 3.3 6cylinder motor that has 170hp. The honda crv that I use to have was only a 4 banger 2.4 and gave 160hp, and way better mpg. Nissans 2.4 is only 142 hp. If nissan would have put another 20 hp into that 2.4 engine,Those hardbodys would scream. Instead they built a whole new engine. I wish they would have just refined and updated the 2.4 maybe with a turbo or something. Plus why did they make the new frnties so big. What happenned to the mini pickup with good mpg and quickness. I still miss the hardbody era.
