Just what brand and weight of motor oil that is good for our trucks for
both winter and summer months. I have seen quite a few Utube
videos.....everything from products that are more like that of snake oil to
the evil of Burmese gas worms and have come away with more
questions than answers. I have been changing the oil, Royal Purple and
Mahle filter ( will never use Flim Fram ) every 5 thousand miles or
mostly every four months on a 130,000-mile truck.

..
I'm not the one to help with this. My '99 hasn't turned 50,000 yet. I haven't even checked to see if there's any evil of Burmese gas worms still in the crank case in two years. It's been about 500 miles since.
If I live long enough I'll get it to 50,000
Good Luck.. Don S..

Paul,
I use what Nissan recommends 5w30, Mainly because of
the High Cold Start Idle.
I've alway's used Castrol going back to the Air Cooled
VW Day's. On my 1st Nissan Truck '93 4cyl Hardbody, I
used Castrol 10w40, but it didn't have a High Idle on
Start Up. 5w30 is Thinner and should get to the
Engine Top side quicker, so that's what I use now on
the '13 Frontier.
Next oil change I'm switching to Castrol Magnatec 5w30
Full Synthetic. Walmart has 5 qt jug's for 21 $'s.
Watch the Video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVD05oqnjrs
My local Walmart has a hard time keeping the Magnatec
in Stock.
I use Geniune Nissan Oil Filter's and I get them from
Either Amazon or EBay. There are several Nissan
Part's Department's selling on Amazon and EBay. Last
time Conyers Nissan in Georgia had the lowest price on
Nissan Oil Filter's.
Like You,, I change the Oil & Filter @ 5K Mile's or 6
month's whichever come's 1st. I'll be doing the same
with the 5w30 Full Synthetic Magnatec
Good Luck on what you are useing or decide to use in
the Future.
