My 2005 Frontier with 48k miles has begun to make a chirping noise,
only when the truck is moving. Happens after the truck warms up and
is not present during idle or revving the engine. It correlates with the
speed of the truck and is present when coasting in neutral. I can't tell if
it is front or back. No change in 4WD. Recently had front rotors/pads
replaced. Wondering about a wheel bearing or U joint?

Possible U-joint, possible hood stops/latch need some lube.

Thanks. Mechanic thinks brake glazing making noise. Will see if it
disappears as brakes wear. I had to quiet hood latch in past with a
little duct tape. Grease wouldn't hold.

Does the noise change w/ or w/o brake application?? If
anything the brakes would be noisey first apply with very
light pressure. I'm leaning towards a u-joint or 2.

I have not noticed any change with braking, and I know that with light
braking it did not increase or decrease. However today after the mechanic
looked at it, I did some hard braking a few times per his suggestion, and the
noise seems to have disappeared-at least for now. Seems a bit strange, but
I'll see what happens.
