I just purchased a 2011 Frontier King Cab that already has a hitch and wiring harness installed. I am planning on towing a lightweight camper (3500 lbs). Do I need anything else added to the truck like a transmission cooler? Thanks

Heat kills the fluid in the tranny... the bad fluid kills trannies... Install external cooler whether you tow or not. The cooler can be installed under the bed away from the muffler. There it will disapate heat very well even without a blower. Run the line to the external cooler then to the Radiator to heat the fluid in the winter if you are 'up north".... Why add the tranny heat to the radiator?

If yo have the hitch and wiring harness, did the truck come with the towing package from the factory? If so, it has an external tranny cooler mounted in front of the air conditioner heat exchanger. I never buy a truck without a towing package.
