Go to bobistheoilguy.com and read all about these.  If you are using a high quality SM or SN rated oil, there is NO NEED for any of these.  See my note on sludge in your other post.  I use and have used Mobil 1 5W-30 or 0W-30 for over 20 years and since I keep new vehicles for over ten years, I can speak to the goodness of a quality oil.  My engines after ten years look like the day they were built when you look down the oil filer tube or pull the valve covers.  I use an oil change interval of about 6-8000 miles on this oil and a quality Purolator 1 filter or a Wix/NAPA Gold.

You can use OW-30 in your Frontier.  It is a thrity weight when warmed and a bit thinner than a 5W when cold.  Helps starting when it is very cold and circulates faster than a 5W.  The base stock of a 0W oil is probably a more robust synthetic as no "dino" oil can be made to give a 0W-30.  In my Fronty, starts are excellent at 10 F and the engine is very quiet at all temps.  Mobil 1 markets this as AFE (Advanced Fuel Economy) as it takes a bit less energy to pump around the engine when cold.  I changed from 5W-30 Mobil 1 to the 0W in late September and have about 3000 miles on it with no evidence of any oil consumption.  I'll change back to a 5W-30 in April.

By the way, at 0 F, all 0W and 5W oils are thicker than 30 weight at operating temps.  So you are never using anything that is below what the engine sees at operating conditions.
