I recently purched a 2008 Frontier Crew Cab. It was the only long bed they had, and it didn't have a roof rack. Is it possible to find a stock roof rack? If so, how much effort, time, and money would be involved in installing one?

you can do it but the whole point for it to come with a roof rack stock so you dont have to deal with a headache trying to put one in. your talking about some decnt work and the removal of your headliner and possibly ruining your roof. ask nissan about it the will be able to do it.

I wanted a roof rack added to mine and the dealer said that it had to come from the factory like that because the roof is renforced when its built to handle the extra weight

I look in to a roof rack unit from my dealer. You can get it but it does not come as one unit. Each part is sold separately not as a kit. The total cost was somewhere around $1500.00. That’s just to buy the rack does not include install.

was told the roof had to be reinforced. can't just install the rack.
