Just purchased the new Haynes guide for our newer trucks (2005-2008) at a local Pep Boys. I go through that store frequently to kill time and always look as I knew this book was coming out. I found it today. It is a fairly reasonable guide with lots of photos and lots of useful info but also lots of generic stuff that is of minimal interest to someone who has done their own maintenance. However, a new to do-it-yourself type would find all of it good reading. Price was about $17.

I would recommend using the Factory Service Manual.

Its free online at www.nicoclub.com/FSM/

Yes, the factory Service Manual is much more detailed. But having a Haines for the simple stuff like brakes, etc is nice for me in my garage. For the average guy doing simple stuff, it is a nice handbook to have around. I find that the first time I use it to do something, I more than recoup the cost.
