Heys folks, new guy here. I picked up a Storm Gray 05 with 36.4k on the clock for a killer price yesterday. After spending an ungodly amount of money the last few years trying to keep a 92 Dakota on the road, I finally threw in the towel and replaced the POS after it lost oil pressure on the way to work the other day. I guess 126k is just to much for a Dodge truck no matter how much love you give it and I am not one to abuse my rigs or ignore the maintenance schedule.

So it's good riddance MOPAR, hello Nissan; wish I'd done this a long time ago.

The Frontier seems like a solid rig with some sensible engineering built into it. It drives like a car and has excellent torque for a V6, almost as much as the 318 Magnum in my Dakota.

Aside from adding a bug shield and wind guards I won't be doing a lot of mods because I like the truck just the way it is, but I am hoping to learn a few things here and hopefully share some of my own know how in the process.

Yeah, I too came from the dark side of Mopar. My Intrepid (like your dakota) decided to lose oil pressure (along with 2 valves and a connecting rod) one day.

I have been driving a trouble free Nissan for almost 4 years now!

There's a reason Chrysler vehicles have such a low re-sale value, they're unreliable and don't last. This wasn't the first time the oil pump went out on the Dakota, it did the same thing 30k miles ago on a dangerous section of freeway. So much for getting reliable service at the Dodge dealership, $3500 in repairs only bought another 30k miles.

The Dodge Dakota is the most expensive truck I've ever owned--never again.

Way back when, when the Dakotas first came out, my stepbrother bought one of the very early ones. After nine months, most of which it was in the shop, he sold it, and hasn't been near a Dodge since then. He won't even ride in one. The shop actually had it longer than he did. At the time, I'd been driving my old bulletproof '85 King Cab, and I kept it for several years after, too. I try not to kid him about it, though, he's a sensitive feller.........................
