New to forums, and new to the frontier in general. I was under my g/f's truck last night and wasn't able to spot the oil filter any where near the oil pan or on teh side of the engine. if you guys can point me in the right direction i'd appreciate it. also what do you guys run for oil, i'm going to put some 5w-30 mobil 1 full syntetic. if you guys have pictures, i'd appreicate that even more.

Thanks

that all depends, what year fronty does your gf drive? i haven't been under the newer frontys with the 4.0, but on my 3.3 01 CC, you will have to reach up above the "skid plate" ( if you don't want to take it off ) to reach the filter and you can take it off w/o removing that shield, i just prefer to take it off so i won't have a big mess on it.

on my 01 it's not that big of a deal...5 bolts that come off easily and goes back on just as easily.

Hey,

I have an 07 Nismo with front skid plate and there's a small removeable panel on the skid plate to access the oil filter. Just be careful though, the edges of the skidplate are really sharp! Could slice the rist open real easy in there! I had to remove the skidplate and refinish that edge myself then added some mylar tape around the hole so as to not cut myself everytime i do an oil change!
