Frrst off, I am a new Frontier owner.  But I am a huge NIssan fan.  I have owned 5 Hardbodys, a maxima, sentra, and a Quest when I was married to the crazy ex from hell.

Anyways., I now have a 2001 Frontier XE K/C 4x2.  It came with 225/70/15 6 spoke wheels.  And I just bought some 235/70/15 tires with the 6 big type spoke wheels from  a 2000 4x4 Frontier....Will they fit???? Thanks bro's

I guess the main question is why did you buy something with out seeing if they fit first?

Next question is if you already have them how hard could it be to go jack up your truck and put them on that would also give you your answer

NO hintonl, the question is will they fit, meaning wheel diameters, hub and clearance...I belong to tlpalnet, gsxr.com, and now this forum; with success in answered questions and overall contribution to the performance of our machines.  It's reply's to new guys like me, why this forum is lacking.  Thanks for your contribution hintonl .  I will post if they fit when they arrive for anyone else that ever wondered.

These dumb ass questions that get asked over and over are why this board is lacking if you spent some time searching on this board or any other Nissan truck board you could find your answer.

This is great... I search this fourm and find no answers to my question.   So I ask the question to the forum and get a reply from a senior member.  And he's a dick about it... Well, at least I am getting more posts by going back and forth with Hintonl, but still have no answer to the question about my wheels that havent arrived yet.  Anyways lets keep this going so I can get more posts.  Oh and another question for you Hintonl, If everything in Texas is big, does that mean you're a big fag with a yellow truck and a cute shell?

..

jace313;

.. I don't know for sure but most trucks have enough space and clearance to clear the next larger size tire. 4x4s are normally more heavy duty in the brake sizes but you can measure and compare the Back-Space of the wheels. Here is and article about wheels in case you need it.

WHEELS and Back Spacing... update 01.19.06
... Axles have two WMS (Wheel Mounting Surfaces) - as on the hubs. This does not set the ‘track-width’ of the vehicle. The mounting surface of the wheel can optionally be on the centerline of the tire (zero off-set) or on ether side of the centerline (positive or negative off-set). Most of us use the Back-Space method to determine tire clearance and fitment. As the BS measurement gets smaller the ‘track-width’ of the vehicle gets wider. Older Chevrolet and Wagoneer 4x4s had a BS of about 3.625 inches. Some of the modern 4x4s now have a BS of 5.5 inches. This was done to improve the scrub angle of the front tires. A very small amount of Back Spacing can shorten wheel-bearing life.
... To measure the BS lay the wheel with the outside facing down. Lay a straight edge across the tire mounting lip and measure down to the mounting surface. Don’t confuse Back Space with Off-Set.

... Zero off-set means the mounting surface of the wheel is on the center-line. A wheel can have a positive or negative ‘off-set’. Most people prefer to use the Back Space measurement. As the Backspace measurements become smaller the wheels will be farther outboard and the vehicle will have a wider track width.

... I have run many thousands of miles with my Full Size Jeep wheels (6 on 5.5 15x8 /BS 3.625) on several Nissan 4x4s. The center of the jeep hub and it is about 4.200 inches.

... The Nissan centering hole is 3.925 inches in diameter so the centering hole of Nissan wheels would have to be turned to the bigger diameter to fit the FSJs. Some of the Nissan wheels may not fit over or clear the brakes but some will as they have a variety of BSs and over all diameters. 1999 Frontier Se 4x4 wheels are 6 on 5.5-15x7 and 5.250 BS.

Lug Nut Patterns

... The bolt pattern has two parts, the number of bolts and the the bolt circle diameter. The bolt circle is the circle which passes through the centerline of each of the hubs lugnuts. Wheels with 4, 6 or 8 bolt holes the measurement is simple: Measure from one hole center to the hole center directly across from it. Wheels with 5 bolt holes you measure from the center of one bolt hole to a line (or ruler) that is drawn between the opposite edge of the two opposing bolt holes. The bolt pattern is then indicated by the number of bolts times the bolt circle diameter - for example a 5x5" bolt pattern is 5 bolt hole arranged around a circle which is 5" in diameter. This may also be known as 5 on 5"

Special care must be used in selecting the correct lugnuts for many types of alloy wheels.

Have a good one,   and CUL.. Don S..

Now I got my answer.     Once I get them and set everything up, I will post a pic so Hinton can make fun of my truck too.  I am basically just trying to fit the biggest tire under the truck to fill up the wheel well and not take that much away from my 4 banger, and I may crank the torsion bar a bit to make the front level with the rear.  The wheels that I am asking about, I got off ebay and will just be used until I get my wheels powder coated black.  And I figure out what tire will fit the best.  Thanks for all the help.  And I love you back, Hinton

You can be an asset or just an …. Some people such as myself don’t always have good luck doing searches and some noobs don’t know how to do an effective search. Some times when peoples DD’s break down panic strikes and they need help quick.
