Hey, I have a 2011 CC Frontier, I looked at all of the
folding systems out there, I bought the G2 BakFlip online
and installed it myself. It is a HARD folding cover,
plenty strong enough and it is lockable. When you lock
your tailgate, it automatically locks the cover.
A soft cover may work for you fine, but I live in
Houston, Texas, a soft top would just get broken into one
day, and there goes the reason for having the cover. If
you don't need the extra security, a soft cover would
work fine.
I paid about $624 (free shipping) for the BakFlip, and
the good news is this: you DON'T need to use the
Utilitrack system: the G2 BakFlip mounts onto the
siderails just above the Utilitrack, so you can still use
the Utilitrack cleats , just fold the BakFlip up.
The Bed Extender (if you have it) also works with the
BakFlip.......when I camp, I load all the gear under the
BakFlip that should not get wet, then the Bed Extender
gets the taller stuff.
You can drive with the BakFlip partially folded up, it
folds flat and secure. It is 99.95% rainproof, just a
little moisture right where the tailgate is, and I mean a
little moisture. From the tailgate, not the BakFlip.
It's not cheap, but this BakFlip is a winner, very good
looking, and I put it in myself........
