I am the proud new owner of a 2005 crew cab 4.0 4x4 SE with the 6 speed transmission. The truck is in very good condition with 99k miles. I have put approximately 4k on it since I bought it. The only issue is the timing chain tensioners whining, which a I am going to fix very soon.
The reason for this post is that I notice that some Frontiers have the fuel economy displayed in the odometer LCD panel on the speedometer. This includes average, distance to empty, instant MPG, etc. My truck does not have this feature, but the cluster's display looks like it has the capability to show them. I was wondering if there is a way to enable these features by reprogramming the PCM, BCM, or the cluster istself.
I have added a keyless remote fob, as well as installing OEM "fog" lights with the updated turn signal/headlamp switch. My local dealer said neither of these features were easy to add, but I proved them wrong.
If someone has the information or knowledge on enabling this feature, and/or whether or not it can be done practically, it would be very appreciated. Thanks.
