Well I would get your size depending upon what you mainly use it for.  And what the road conditions are like.

Just remember, the bigger rim you get, the less tire you have between it and the road.  Which means damage from a pothole can happen easier.  Also, a 18" wouldn't be all that great if you do some offroading. 

Another factor is ride quality.  While the truck would handle better with 18" rims, you'll fill the road bumps a lot more.
