If you know any modifications, mainly performance-wise, that isn't hard to use with a 2001 XE shortbed, normal cab, inline-4, 5 speed frontier, please let me know.
I've been having trouble finding anything for the four cylinder frontier. I keep finding (minimal) performance upgrades for the v6 frontier, but I question the ability to use the same products on the smaller truck.
So please, any mods for this version of the frontier, let me know. I'm wanting my truck to stand out from the other frontiers in the area. It'd be even better if I could dust them when i feel necessary.

Mr. Merritt;
A prime parameter of performance for drag racing is the power to weight ratio.
You can add power or subtract weight.
Light weight tires and wheels. Don’t carry unnecessary items and go on a diet.
Gasoline is about 6.5 pounds per gallon I think so don’t keep a full tank.
Another is to be better at anticipating the start without jumping the light.
Have a good one and CUL.. lakota

There arent many unnecessary items in a regular cab shortbed. theres basically nothing to it already.
and im sure it cant be safe to gas it up to 5000rpm before shifting. it sure doesnt sound like it.
so seeing how i cant subtract a good amount of weight, im wanting to ass a good amount of power.
thats what im needing help with.

I've been out on the net looking for anything that would help out your problem and can't seem to find anything either... If you like your fronty and are interested in power.. the four banger probably isn't the route you want to go.
Even if the parts were available for the four banger, you'd spend quite a bit of money to get the power your looking for. It would be much easier to trade your fronty in for one with a v6, preferably one with a super charger. The money you would spend on the difference between the two vehicles would probably off set what you are willing to spend on getting the power out of a four banger.
Then you could build that motor and REALLY spank the competition....

well i was given this truck by my dad. and. i cant sell or trade it in for anything, so im basically trying to get the best out of this one as i can.
im thinking, maybe there are similar parts for like. the compact import "rice" cars that could fit onto this. that way id have the performance im looking for without having to trade it in.

WHOA.... nothing for the 2.4 KA24E MOTOR???? Ohhh that's right. There's a little bit, mostly JWT stuff. But not that much. Try finding a KA24DE motor. There's plenty of stuff for that. That's what I have stuff into my truck.
The motor shouldn't be too hard to find. Just find anyone with a 2nd gen 240sx who is doing a SR20 swap. I'm sure they'll unload the engine to you for cheap.

BTW... JWT offers cams, chips, pressure regs, injectors, and if you play around with the room in your truck. You could even turbo the baby.
But honestly, a KA24DE would be a better way to go.

SR20s are nice, but I'm a bigger fan of the KA.
BTW... the 3.5 would be a funner swap
