I found an online auction for a factory take-off frontier supercharger. It seemed to be a good deal so I got some pics of it and it looked great. Does anyone know what would be involved in retrofitting one of these on a non-charged 3.3? I would think it would be worth the headache for the gains. Thanks in advance.

apparently this process is pretty lengthy, as it involves some changing of diff parts such as the intake mani (i believe, can't speak to that) as well as costly as you would have to reflash the ECM i believe as well, some others with better experience would be able to speak to that better, also try searching this forum i know this topic has come up more than once, try changing the drop down menu to inlude time periods further back or all topics

i have a complete supercharged engine and ecu.... it was wrecked and i have just been using the truck for parts...but i know for sure the engine is exactly the same between a non supercharged 3.3 and a superchared 3.3.... ecu is different, all the accesory brackets are different.... but yea after looking into it i changed my mind on doing the swap but it can be done though.

The only differances would be injector rates more than likely set by the ecu, im sure there are piggy back moduals that can make up for that, but interanaly all VG blocks are forged so there are no problems. I am not positive if there might be a compression drop on the Vg33er but i know for the older Vg3oe people populary tubro charge this motor from its NA state because of its higher compression ratio of 9:1... knock shouldnt be a problem. i know that motor to be good to almost 10 psi with out aftermarket managment.
