I just finished installing the K&N 77 CAI and while I was pulling out the stock airbox, and there was a tube that for the life of me I cannot figure out where it goes. I looked on the stock air box... can't see where it hooked up.... after installing the 77 CAI, there was only one hose and that was for the crank case vent.  I started it up, and noticed an idiot light for 'VDC OFF' so, this tube MUST go somewhere. I have a 2006 Frontier 4.0 LE 4x4

Here is a pic of the unconnected hose. This is driving me nuts! Thanks in advance.

That tube is the front differential breather tube. I just used a cable tie and tied it to the ABS lines (see pic below). I don't have VDC, but I don't see how the hose would affect it. The only thing I can think of that caused VDC to turn off is that you disconnected the negative terminal on your battery and it most likely reset the electronics after putting it back on.

Thanks for the response. Yes, I figured that out after following the tube down to the front diff. Strange... I took the truck out for a spin and the VDC error went away.... I guess it was just a glitch that required some time for the computer to reste after reconnecting the battery.

Good idea on the zip strip.
