As all of us who own a SC frontier know there are not intercooler kits made for our trucks. And again as all of us who own SC frontiers know that our trucks suffers tremendously from heat sink/saturation, which intern lowers HP and there for lowers happiness. Well I think I have solved my/our problem that is if you see it as a problem. I have three things that I have done in order to help cool down our very inefficient S/C's. First a functioning Hood scoop located over the SC. why First off all because it sits atop an engine that is hot and heat rises and it is insulated by the heat reflecting cloth that lines our hoods. So in other words it is in a horrible place and has no room for heat to leave so it sinks in and super heats the super charged air, there for negating ( although not totally) the supercharging effect.
There have been posts of people with NA v6's and even 4 baggers beating out our SC. I personally believe this although we do have greater potential our engine bay quickly turns into a hp robbing heat box of in efficiency. So first step hood scoop so that when you are not moving heat can leave your engine bay, and when you are cool air is moving over your SC.
Next is cold air induction not only to your air box/cone filter but to your SC. I currently have two 2.5 “hoses running from the bumper through Both the air box hole and the inlets next to the battery. We have so much room for these kinds of things it is almost a shame not to.
Finally the pride and joy I bought fuel line, a reservoir, a fuel pump and transmission cooler, AKA a little radiator. I ran the fuel lines in-between the ribbing of the SC, and at the base of it and then into the Reservoir and back around. I mounted the TRans cooler in front of the radiator. My Truck now runs like it is supper charged all the time. NOTE I USED FUEL LINE NOT FUEL. AND I FILLED THIS SYSTEM WITH ANTIFREEZE NOT GASOLINE. DISCLAIMER.
Any ideas on improvements or question
