Lots of heat (paint-stripper gun), stiff squeegy, and patients.
If you heat the metal around the emblem enough, you may get the letters off without leaving glue behind. Use a pair of channel-locks to get a good grip on the emblem once you have a corner lifted (if necesary). Take your time!
If you do have glue, get a concentrated citric cleaning agent to soften the glue so you can remove it without scuffing the paint.
Don't count on saving the letters as they're usual on there with contoured double-sided adhesive.
