So is has that already been a qoute from a shop????  Seems a little too high to do want you want.

And as far as the pipes having to be the same, it depends upon how you're running it.  I haven't looked under the nismo's yet, so I can't say for sure what the stock setup is.

If there's 1 inlet pipe for the muffler, it won't really matter on the length of the exit piping.

Plus, as far as the tank goes, you can always put up a lot of heat sheilding, and run the exit tips lower.

If you haven't checked with a shop already, I suggest you go in and talk to them.  Ask them which way would be the best to run what you want.

When I took my truck in for an exhaust, things were explained and I didn't leave with a vague understanding.. I'll explain the way the dude at the muffler shop told me.

This truck has two cats, one that attaches to a header and one at the collection point of both headers... strange, yes... so, there is only one muffler and if you look under the passenger side, mid-truck, you'll see it. Notice, it's tucked up in there pretty nicely. Your gas tank is plastic and doesn't sit too far from the muffler, among other parts... at first glance it just looks like there would be way too much work involved to get the cowboy exhaust.

If you are going to do this yourself, I hope you have a mandrel bender because you're going to be doing plenty of fabrication... not to mention, you might want to relocate your spare tire.

If you do this on your own successfully, hands down, you are an amazing fabricator.

I hope you are planning on off-roading your machine.. if so, while fabricating, take in to consideration that you probably don't want your exhaust sitting below your chassis, you want it tucked up there until you get to your tips... I think that's where the difficulty in this job is. Good Luck. Make a jig too, I bet you could make a few bucks off of it.
