Ive got a 2001 SE V6 4x4 and its pretty underpowered. I'm adding intake and a new exhaust, and I'm considering getting a lift... but I'm wondering if i get the lift and bigger tires will i see a huge decrease in acceleration just because the engine's gotta move those bigger tires?

inevitably, yes.....depending on........the lift in and of it self won't make you lose any real power, but going bigger wheels, YES, bigger tires YES, how much all depends on how big of tires you go with, you also have to take into account when you go bigger with those things you will change the accuracy..or rather make your speedometer inaccurate if you don't have it adjusted and that can be done. if you wanted to get into adding more power to your vehicle there are threads on this forum that specifically have links for doing that for the fronty's a few of those places are (i'm going to list some for you to make it easy on ya)..one thing you could do is change gearing to regain some of the lost power from going bigger with your wheels and/or tires

www.4x4parts.com (specializes in nissans)

www.spencerlowracing (also specializes in perf mods for nissans, have a package to take the NA fronty of our year and go from 170 stock to 220/something HP and 239 ft/lbs, i believe and all NA still)

http://www.jimwolftechnology.com (specializes in nissans, however from what i've seen of the site they have limited equipment for the VG33E)

www.calmini.com has lift stuff and suspension stuff as well as intake and exhaust but probably be better off going with somplace else or even custom if you don't have it already

and various other sites like....

www.autoanything.com, www.jcwhitney.com , www.courtesyparts.com ,

all have stuff for your app, and maybe soem other trail gear you might be i ntersted in, i guess ti all depends on how serious you are going to be about offroading and how much money you want to spend, but that's always the case lol, keep in mind that if you go a lot bigger and are off roading pretty heavy you might want to go with a bigger brake set up if you can to help stop the bigger wheels/tires, but just opinion, there is a place that i posted a link to in another thread i think the the perf/mods section in a thread about brakes that has some performance type drums for the rear with more surface area i guess transfer heat and perf rotors too, but you can shop around for that stuff too..hope this helps with some ideas, and some of the other guys like kcid will probably be able to give you better tachnical advice than i will
