You have a valid question I can’t answer.

But, not to be trite, the question is similar to ‘how long is a string’. There are so many ‘ifs, ands and buts’. Some people put oversized tires that will rub the fender wells even on flat ground and are happy with it. In most stock vehicles one can install one or two of the next larger size tires without adverse effects except for fuel mileage.

BFG AT KO 31”x10.50”x15” have worked well on the five 4x4s I’ve owned. Running on Colorado Mountain sharp rocks I need the Tri-Guard sidewall construction. If I did mud (Yuck) I’d go for the BFG Mud Terrains. The more aggressive tread designs are noisy, ride rough and cause poor fuel mileage. Modern low aspect ratio tires do not ‘air down well, do not ride well and do not crawl over obstacles very well.

Unfortunately I have no experience with the second generation of Frontiers. They have completely different suspensions than my 13 year old Frontier.

BTW.. Pick ups need more lift (clearance) in the rear than the front!
