I was wondering if anyone knows the max tire size you can fit on the stock 17 inche rims on the 01-04 4x4 crew cab sc models? i believe the tag on the door says 265 R17 55 possibly, but i'm wondering if I can fit a set of 265 70's on there?

any advice would be great,

Discount tires has a size conversion guide that can tell you the diameter size increace. Cranking the 'T-bars' one inch or less and maby mild trimming should give enough clearance. If the T-bars are cranked up have the front end alighnment checked.
