Ok so im new to the Forum, but i've had my truck now for a year.  Ive done some off roading with it and i am very pleased with its ablilitys for a stock truck. clearance isnt that great so i guess its a good thing that most of the components are tucked above the frame rails. I just thought that i would Share about the tend that is offered. It sets up in about 15 min, looks great and is very ... rugged. i like it better than my LL been.  I think the tent is about 250? But worth every penny. just right for the go anywhere and do anything truck. not only will i race them to the trail, beat them to the spot, but i'll be set up and starting the fire before there done!

Yup!  When you're slow like me you learn to sleep standing up because all the tent spot are taken up.

Actually the wife and I sleep in the truck.

..

rippdogg13;

It's a rain proof Cem-Can cover with a full length zippper. It can be set up in five minutes. A couple of trail side places we have camped at didn't even have a bush to hide behind. The cem-can can be emptied at regular campsite and picnic grounds.

You can take a ‘spit bath’ in it or change underwear in it (but not with someone else  )...

Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S..

Most of the countries we import our food and goods from hate our guts… do you think for a minute they treat the food and merchandize with loving care? Globalization Sucks for the average American… but our enemies, and big business, and our politicians

love it!

I wanted the tent but then i got thinking.....where do you put all your camping gear when you have the tent set up? I mean, you probably put a cooler and other camping stuff and luguage in the truck bed to get to the site, but what do you do with everything once you set the tent up? Might not have enough room in the king cab. Also, the required beer run... what happens when your buddies drink all your beer and you need to do a beer run but the tent is already set up! Or if you're camping for more than one day you have to take it apart daily to be able to use the truck to get around! I think i'll opt for a regular tent i can set and forget?

Have any of you who own the tent run into these problems? what do you think?

good question and i've delt with it already, first... your usualy only camping for a week end right... so there realy isnt alot of food. Next the tent fits two... romanticaly...  um... the passenger side folds down all the way, so there actualy is alot of room inside the king cab. I put my cooler under tha tail gate. also the tent doesnt realy ... um need the truck. you can set it up in the tent... and i think you can see some of the straps .. there is a strap in the front middle and end on each side , that is elastic and goes to a hook that hooks under the truck. At the tail gate there are three straps aswell. to remove the tent, just un hook them, it will not fall apart, pull it out when your done have a buddy lift it back in with you. I've done this a few times with 4 layers of opened up sleeping bags as padding still in it. only potential issue down the road is the pole that goes over the opening of the tent its realy long and has to bend one hell of a bend, and im always scared its gonna snap into my face... but 1 year and i've camped it about 15 18 times now... so im not so worried.

i have used my kc for about 12 trips of four days each and I always put everyting in the cab.  Two food bins and a cooler plus all our personal gear bags.  As far as going anywher while we are set up, its a process but we're 50 km in the bush so, wher are we gonna go?  I hjad the same hesitations about cab space for storing gear while camping, but with the seats folded down, ther is an impressive amount of room and the ingenious cubby holes are all over the place to stwo small stuff.  I love it.  And I came from camping with a pathy!  So I am used to four doors and two rows of seating.  Just my imopressions.

We got tired of setting up the tent so we brought one of these...

It takes only 5 mintues to setup. Has 140Ltr of water, 60Ltr Fridge/Freezer, Gas Cook top and Gas Hot water, Shower, Queen innerspring mattress, Solar Pannel and 2 x 110amp/h batteries, plus more.

It has inderpendant suspension so it will have no trouble following the 4x4 off road!
