Just wanted to know if anyone knows of a kit that will convert my 2002 nissan frontier dessert runner from 2wd to 4wd. Or does anyone know how to convert my truck from 2wd to 4wd.

Yep... go trade it in. To be honest, the time and money it would take to convert, it's almost cheaper just to trade the vehicle in. You're looking at a lot of stuff.
New front suspension, transfer case, upgraded rear suspension, drive lines, brake lines, and I believe a different ECU.
Do a search, I could have sworn somebody did it already.

... It would be cheaper to convert using an 1980 or newer Wagoneer solid D-44f front axle but if you can’t do the work yourself go buy a lottery ticket and pray. Remember the front gearing needs to match the rear gearing.
Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S..

If only people just had the money to go and convert on a whim with all the time in the world to do it. Given the choice of just getting a used 4x4, or spending that much just for 2 more wheels giving traction, I find it easier for a used. Then the money could be spent else where.
BTW... the line of ASE certificates hanging on my wall for ASE light and heavy duty vehicles suggests I have some clue.

Hi,
i am going to convert my truck to 4wd, its a 2004, i got very interested when looking at hintonl's project pictures. It seems it wasn't that expensive and it must of been very fun to do it, sometimes you dont afford to get a new truck or you just love your truck to much to change it for another one.
i am looking for the parts needed in courtesy parts website as they have full diagrams of parts and everything, i will be posting the updates here and i wonder if you will be willing to assist me "Hintonl" in case of troubles?

Great mods, I was just wondering if there would be any brand of idler arm that would be great in quality and affordability. Thanks for sharing
