I have 1999 Nissan Frontier 4KD with 124,440 miles on it. I had Advance Auto read the check engine light and print out defective #4 spark plug. I replaced all spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor and had them reset the code. It was clear for couple of days and the engine light came on again and read same problem. Checked all connections and did not find anything obvious. The engine idle is good/quite. I'm puzzled. My second problem is that my sway bar I-bolts keep popping or broken in half. The 2 original bolts broke, a friend made me replacement from stainless steel and both broke. He is making me 2 more. Dealer replacement is $25 each. Anybody experiencing this problem?

..

sidclaim;

Welcome to the group.

... I’ve never had those problems but mine (see SIG) only has 38.000 on it. I did have a high speed miss under power but one bottle of Lucas fuel treatment fixed that.

Have a good one,  and CUL.. Don S..

I had a similar situation with my 99Max.  Dealer replaced the coils still the problem came back.  Another dealer told me it was the wiring harness ($1100 for the part) and to bring it back when it fails.  I fixed the probem with a product called DeOxit in a spay can ans sprayed it on all the connectors in the and around the ignition system.  Light has not been (for the same probem) in almost 4 years. Bet Nissan sold thousands of coils set. I know the ignition systems are different but give it a try.  I got the DeOxit from MCM electonics.  Oh and by the way make sure the plugs are NGK (OE).
