I hope to get an answer)

I own a Nissan Frontier 2014 2.5L 2WD.
I have a rough idle issue and I want to check the fuel
pump pressure.

1. Does anyone know if there is a test valve for the fuel
pump pressure?

2. what should be the fuel pump pressure when the engine
is off and on?

Tik,

These 2nd Gen Truck's are Packed Full of Electronic's
that Control Air Fuel Ratio and Just About EveryThing
Else.

My Advice is Don't Start Guessing. DownLoad the Nissan
Service Manual if You are going to Try to Diagnose This
YourSelf. Just Google for a Free Download..

It Might just be that the MAF Sensor Need's to be
Cleaned, but that has to be done with Special Cleaner and
a Specific type of Cloth per the service Manual.

It Might be a Whole Lot Cheaper to just take it to Your
Nissan Service Dept and let them diagnose it, cause it is
really easy to cause another problem and Still have the
Original Problem to deal with.

I have a 2013 V6 and Mine Idle's and Run's Smooth and
Quiet, but I am Very Very Careful when changeing out the
Air filter not to get any dust or Dirt into the Air
Intake. Also check those Adjustable Clamp's on the Air
Intake Pipe Fitting's to make sure that they are Tight,
as well as the Box on the Air Filter Houseing to make
sure that the Plastic Prong's are Seated into the Lower
Box Slot's. Also Make Sure that the Air Filter doesn't
need to be changed out.

Again in the Long Run, it might be cheaper to take it to
Nissan for them to diagnose..

Hi Rubble

Thank you for your response.
I learned that for better results you should do it by
yourself.
The air intake is tight and I already cleaned the MAF
sensor and the throttle body and I replaced the air-
intake gasket.
I plan to clean the fuel injectors and change the spark
plugs for better quality.

Tik,

In the Winter Time with the Temp's going from Cold to
Warm so much, it may have some water in the Gas. I know
just too simple, but You Might try some Chevron Techron
Fuel System Cleaner. Every year or so, I put some in the
Tank if I think that that the Engine isn't running as
smooth as it should. Chevron may have a more specific
additive for removeing water in the system. I try not to
use additive's unless I think that it is necessary. Have
to be really careful about adding an additive, so not to
do any damage.

Brand of Gas Might make a difference as well. I use
Chevron, as I get the best mileage with their Gas,, and
the MidRange is supposed to have the additive's that help
keep the System Clean. Does it really help? I can't
say,, but so far Mine is Running, Idleing Smooth, and I
average a little bit over 20 mpg mixed type driveing,
however mine is 2wd and has the 2.937 rear end ratio.

Be sure to Download the Genuine Nissan Service Manual, It
has a lot of good Extra Information to help the Owner
with preventative maintenance as well as In Depth
Repair's.

I'm pretty sure that the Service Manual will have
instruction's on how to check the Fuel Pump out, etc..

PS ~ I should have mentioned this earlier and You may
have allready done this, but the 1st thing to do is get
the Data Trouble Code's (DTC), from the Truck itself, to
give you a better idea of what's going on and the
possible thing's to check out.. Several Way's to get the
DTC's, Some are Free such as a Reputable Part's Supplier,
Firestone(may be a charge), Nissan(may be a charge),
Etc.. I have a Scangauge II that will display the
DTC's..

I checked using my LAUNCH for error codes.
there is a misfire in cylinder #4 and previous check I
also received a Random misfire.
I already replaced the coil and Fuel injector for
cylinder #4 and i checked the coil cables.
but, I'm still having the rough idle issue.

it can be one of those:
1. Vacuum leak
2. fuel pressure
3. engine failure

Tik,

Ok. I'm not a Mechanic by any Stretch, however I do my
own preventative maintenance and do some repair's if I
think that I can do an excellent repair within my
ability's.

I have read that that a vacuum leak can be from several
sources, and can also be caused by a leaky PCV Valve.

Some of these Engine Rough running, Stopping, failing to
start, etc, Can be caused by a Camshaft Position Sensor
and/or a Crankshaft Position Sensor, which I have
heard/read won't show up in the TDC's, so be aware of
that.

It just may be so many thing's, that's why I suggested
takeing it to Nissan and let them diagnose it, however I
would want to talk with the Service Manager and want the
most experienced Master Tech to do the diagnosis, but
that's just me.

I've read so many post's by Owner's that have guessed @
what might be the problem and replaced part's after
part's until they were dumbfounded and just didn't know
what to replace next.

Have you downloaded the Nissan Service Manual? It's
complicated for me to read about diagnoseing a problem,
but it might be easier for you to understand.

Yes, it cost's more for Nissan to Find and Fix a
problem,, but in the Long Run,, it might be the lesser of
2 evil's.

Just One Example ~ A fellow's radiator was leaking, so he
took it to a local shop to get the radiator replaced. He
was going to save about 200 $'s over Nissan's Cost. They
replaced the Radiator,, but didn't replace the ATF that
was lost in the Process. His AT went to Slipping. He
checked the ATF DipStick and No ATF was showing on the
Dipstick! Was his 5000 $ AT damaged? ~ He hasn't updated
that Thread to let us know in over a Week, but I know
that it didn't do his AT any good, that's for sure. I'm
hopeing he didn't kick the bucket over it.

It's just not like it used to be, with all the New
Electronic's that have been added on Since the Nissan
Hardbody's.

I wish that I knew more to help you.
