I just bought a 2000 Nissan frontier ( my 9th )
Doors locked fine but the key fobs didn’t work
I replaced the batteries and still won’t work but ever since then if I lock the
doors they will stay locked for a minute or so the unlock
This happens if I manually lock our use the key to lock the doors it
automatically un locked
I can not get it to stay locked
I can’t find the power door lock fuse either
Any suggestions

Look in the Owner's Manual for Setting Resetting
instruction's.
If No Go There, then it may mean a Trip to Nissan to get
thing's Reset. It's 23 year's old, so who know's what
the Previous Owner did in that time. Hopefully something
simple that the Owner's Manual can help you out with.
I rented a car to go Pickup my Old Truck after I got the
New One,, and I never could tell if the Rental was Locked
or Not ~ As soon as I got close to it,, the Door's would
Auto Unlock ~ Just Too much Electronic for me..
I've Never used the Key Fob's with mine that I bought new
back in '13. I just don't trust those Key Fob's. I
prefer the Old Key Method; Really don't much like all
the Electronic New Stuff, but that's just me. What I
really dislike is that they only provided One Door for
the Key Entry. I could pay to get the other Door Handle
Switched out for a Key,, but just don't want to spend the
Extra Money. She'll just have to open the passenger door
Herself, until She Hit's me over the head with the Frying
Pan, Then I'll Spend the Money...

I have not taken this to the dealership yet but I am able to lock the doors
again once I have removed the batteries from both key fobs.

Well That's Good To Know.
Maybe the Key Fob's aren't OE.
Since I bought my Frontier back in 2013, I've never used
the Key Fob. Batterie's are probly dead anyway.
I liked Truck's when there wasn't as much Electronic's.
Once Walking into WalMart's I saw the Trunk Lid Opened on
a Car, Nobody Around, Probly the Key Fob got Punched by
Accident after leaveing the Car.
