I know that to take out the stereo, you have to remove the plastic panels
around it but how do they come off? I took out a screw on the botton side
one but it's still connected to something and I don't want to break it.

Thanks,

You have to pull the bottom trim near the shifter out, then you'll find 2 screws under there.  There's 2 more inside the pocket area.  Then you have to remove the fan/temp/vent knobs off.  Slowly pull the trim away from the dash, and disconnect the Passenger airbag switch and light, and the lighter.

Note... do not turn the ignition on while the airbag circuit is disconnected.  This will cause a code in the system, and will require it to be cleared.  $60 just for nissan to attach their machine.  Unless you know someone with a Snap On Solus.

Thanks for the info. I'll check it out. Also, Thanks for the tip on the airbag,
I'll think I'll disconnect the battery.
