Hi,

New to the forums. I have a 2000 Frontier (4 cyl). The blower - regardless if heat or A/C is selected - will only operate on the max setting "4".

I did a search on this subject and the forum consensus was that the blower motor resistor needs to be replaced.

Can someone tell me exactly where this resistor is located and what it looks like? I have a Chilton repair manual, but it doesn't mention this part.

Also, any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Here is what I found from Google wiki:

The blower motor resistor card is located under the glove box. It is on the lower right hand side. It is the card with the wires running into it. There should be a screw on the top and underside. Unscrew them both and pull the wires and card out. The card is probably bigger than the one you have to replace it. Hope this helps you. And if you're a bigger person like myself its a tight squeeze laying on the floor trying to do this.

Thanks for the reply David.

I will try it out this weekend and report back.

It is a tight squeeze, I will probably have to take the seat out.

Sounds like a def blown resistor to me , pull it out and have a look at the soldering on the resistor , i have found several where the soldering just melterd of the wire , resolderd and they were good for another few seasons
