I have had my frontier for just over a year, put on lots of highway miles, 17000, and in the last thousand I got all kinds of squeaking and rattling.  There are several TSB's about it, only some of them cover the problems, others have no TSB.

I took it to the dealer and they told me that I have to pay for diagnosis and adjustments, unless its a faulty part causing it, being that its over the 12000 mile adjustment period.

So, the question is, anyone else have these problems that fixed it themselves, or has an idea how much this is going to cost me?

The Window rattles over bumps when its 1/2 way down (track grease?), the rear squeaks over bigger bumps, and the front squeaks when your turning over bumps, large and small.  There is also a rattle under the dash that is so nerve-wracking, its sporatic and just loud enough to annoy you.

Its my 4th nissan, and I never had a problem before, except for a bad coil on my 96 maxima.

Anyone?

Welcome... you wouldn't happen to be on the Maxima forums would you?

Anyway, bolts tend to get loose.  Check around the rear bumper and make sure everything is tight.  If they are, you might want to look into getting some rubber and using it as a washer between the bumper and it's mount

For the dash, try pushing on various pieces while driving.  It's probably your glove box though.  Eventually you'll rule out what's not rattling.

As for the front suspension, it's a trait of the Nissan truck, my old 90 Harbody did it, my 02 Frontier did it.  Take a good look at it and see if there are grease zerks.  If not, the internal lubrication of the items could be gone.  Also, try some WD-40 on the control arm bolts.  I found on my 90 that's what was making all the racket.

I remember you, I use the same SN over there as I do here.  I'm usually in the 3rd gen and Audio forums.

Sorry to hear about the Max... you trying to find another one?
