hey guys

checking in from Hawaii. I have a 08 se crewcab longbed auto. with
62500 miles. a few days ago my rear end started to make noise with
clicking and what felt like the driveshaft slipping out. that happens at
low speeds while turning and sometimes in a str8 line. I can floor it
and it'll catch the gear perfect. I took the truck into Goodyear and they
said it's the rear differential and they can't help me. I called around
and someone told me that Nissan Corp. could still fix it under the
warrenty. I do a lot of driving on this truck daily atleast 50 a day and I
do carry some weight from time to time. I have also have a 04 frontier
that was used for work and that has 132000 miles with no drivetrain
problems. so is this problem I'm having has it happened a lot to other
trucks of 2008 or of the same design?

Are you sure it is not a u-joint concern? Is the rear diff ever submerged in water? The vent is really crap due to rusting and plugging up causing pressure build-up and leaks. I mounted a plastic GM vent up along my frame via a hose and nipple from an older Pathfinder.

the truck has never been that much
underwater. i warm up everyday. the truck hasnt even really
made 2 years old yet. granted i speed but this early in the
game is kinda odd to me. ive made one aftermarket upgrade
and that was with the Stillen intake nothing to the exhaust
and nothing to the gearing.
