Hello folks.  I have an 09 SE 4x4 crew cab (10,000 mi.) that has developed a humming/whistleing noise that seems to be coming from underneath the truck. This starts aorund 20 mph and is far worse when the air temp is cold. I have checked for loose heat shields etc. The local dealer has already changed the front shaft u-joints.....didn't work.....and now they swear its coming from the transfer case, but I'm not convinced. Wondered if any of you have had a similar problem and would like to hear your thoughts.

The tires seem fine....rotated a few weeks ago. My experiance with wheel bearings is that they make a growling noise and you can usually hear it at all speeds or only when you make a turn.  Good thuoght tho. I'll suggest it to the mechanic.

Thanks
