Just purchased a 2004 Frontier, and noticed a noise coming from the supercharger.  147k miles not sure if this is normal.  When the car is first started there is no noise, after warm up the supercharger seems to engage and there is  noticible vibration/noise from the supercharger.  Has there been any problems with the superchargers and does anyone know how long they last before problems?

Eric, have you gotten to the bottom of the cause of this noise?  I've been wrestling with the source of a light grinding noise seeming to emanate from the S/C after warm up as well.

Yes, I had to replace the S/C.  I bought a rebuilt S/C for about $700 online.  Noise is no gone.

Interesting.  Thanks for the reply post Eric.  Too many S/C Frontiersmen are down the road now, along with their experiance.

I've been eliminating other plausible sources for my hissing gind, but am quickly coming to the conclusion that the only feasible fix for this is a S/C rebuild, as it's likely the bearings, as you found.  I have purchased the bearings and seal associated with a rebuild for this unit will be simply pulling the S/C and dropping it at my local machine shop for finesses cleaning, and pressing off and on of them.

Glad to hear you got yours sorted.  Our experience with these Eaton M62's chewin' through their bearings should advocate for regular elective S/C oil changes -all the more for a new unit one might want to keep in better shape for longer!

Cheers,
Mark S
