My truck just poped a code of P0463. It's the Fuel Level Sending unit not gettin proper voltage. Has anyone had this problem and what did you have to do to fix this problem?
My gas gauge is acting up and the Service Engine Soon light is on.
I have a 2005 Frontier Nismo 2WD

You need to replace the fuel level sensor unit, it is available as a separate unit attached to the fuel pump assembly. You will also need the o'ring seal and special tool to remove lock ring. I'm sure with a hammer and large punch you could remove the lock ring. Never tried it as to the fact I have access to factory tools.

Will this sensor fail intermittently? Because it has been working fine since yesterday. But the check engine light is still on. Can I reset the light to go off to see if the problem persist?
What will this part run me and is it necessary to lower the fuel tank to replace?
I live outside of SE Phoenix.
Thank you frontierguy!

Yes, it can be intermittent. And yes it will persist. You do have to remove the tank. There is not a lot of slack in the harness and fuel line on top of the tank. You can only lower it about 3-4 inches(just enough to get your arm in to disconnect the harness and hose. All Data shows 2.1 hours for this procedure, not sure on the price of the sensor and o-ring. It is best to have as little fuel as possible in the tank when attempting this repair. I would assume you are out of your 3/36000 warranty(depends on in-service date).

I got this same code. When I took it to the dealer, they said that the part came with the fuei pump, and I had to replace all. Now, when I call about the price, they quoted me $134.42 for the sensor unit, and $29.41 for the o-ring. Am I getting ripped off or what? I also have a 2005 4.0L cre-cab Frontier.

Yes, you are getting ripped. It's also a 2.1 hour job according to Motor-All-Data, although it can be done in much less time.
