Here's a million dollar question...

Where can you buy the quick disconnects for 05+ frontier, xterra and pathfinder horns?

I've already tried...

  1. Napa
  2. Norwoods
  3. Dealership in NJ
  4. Dealership in CA
  5. Dealership in TX
  6. Dealership in AZ
  7. Advance Auto Parts
  8. Pep Boys
  9. Walmart
  10. Kmart
  11. Auto Zone
  12. And other forums
No one had the part and those Mart store and generic auto parts stores I browsed their multi packs and loose connectors. I've come to realize that the only way we might get this is to have a tech talk to an engineer at Nissan. Would they really have you replace the whole wiring harness if the connector was damaged? Maybe they could inform someone of the producer of thier connectors and give you a part number or vendor....

Here's the part I'm looking for...
Wiring harness side

Horn side

Thanks for any input.

We have available from Nissan many terminals-connectors-insulators-etc at the dealership. Sometimes not all are available. Let me do some checking ,I'll see what is available in our connector kit. Have you tried a salvage yard? And yes, I have replaced entire engine room harnesses due to minor damage.
If there is damage at the horn side, you will have to replace the horn. Another option is to glue to connector to the horn.

Thanks frontier guy. Here's the deal...

I bought a Volant CAI. After paying $300+ it should be plug an play. I had to make my own horn relocation kit out of some pins and modified butt connectors to extend what you saw about 2.5'.

I was figuring that if they sold those connectors I could us them with my own wire and make an easy horn relocation kit. The one I made required weatherproofing at the connectors to keep the elements out. If it was the factory disconnect there would be no need.

So... If I wanted to make one, yes I could goto a slavea yard and cut what I needed, but as with my thorwout bearing and my military experience, I'm forced to think on a much broader scale, the greater good.

I was hoping to find a part number, make my own easy replacement and another one to sent to volant. They truley failed in this aspect and I was hoping to send them a protoype to incude in future kits. One that I would have gladly paid $25 more to cover the hassle I went throgh. If not, then atleast I coudl pass the part #'s to people in the same spot. Others have just "jammed the horns" under the drivers headlight. This isn't sat to me.

If you want more info or history on my deal please check this...

Thanks for giving me some of your time to help me with my issue. I really appreciate all that people do out of thier own way.

Coastie, why didn't you just cut the wire, add the length you need with heat shrink connectors???????????? That way you still have a weather tight connection at the horn.

probably cause if you goof it up, the whole harness on the drivers side is one gigantic assembly.  cant just buy the horn harness by itself.
