Hi all, I have a 2007 Nissan Frontier, I often have noticed the the front passenger side floor is very wet, and I mean very wet. I kept thinking that I was leaving the window open on accident during rain storms but I figured I can't be that stupid that many times.. So I started to conciously make sure that window stays closed and low and behold the floor was still becoming very wet.
I did alot of troublshooting and found (will I think) I found the reason. There is a hole in the wall below the glove box going through the firewall, about 3 inches in Diameter. I am not sure what it is but it is surrounded by some black spoungs material and that was SOAKING wet to the touch.  I am thinking maybe the A/C drainage or something?? but it looks like it is running water down under the carpet and soaking up the floor.

Does anyone know what device this is?
Has anyone ever experienced this issue?

Thanks all, looking for some input on how I can get this issue resolved before the carpet starts getting all moldy on me.

I'm assuming that you have checked your coolant level and there's no smell from this water?

Of course being a 07 I wouldn't think your heater core would have developed a leak already.

If you still have a warranty I would take it to your dealership.  It very well could be your A/C drainage is blocked up or kinked and is running into your cabin.

There is a TSB to add a piece of hose to the A/C evap drain to prevent this. If the carpet is musty or mildew you are entitled to a new carpet also. See your dealer.

I had the same problem. It's definitely an AC drain. The service tech explained to me that sometimes the drain will get blocked (possibly by a spiderweb or something) and the water from the AC will back up into the cabin and soak the floor on the front passenger side. He blasted the drain with compressed air from under the truck and the problem was solved so I gotta believe it was clogged as he described. It's been about a month and still nice and dry.

Don't ask me why there's a path for the water to get into the cabin in the first place though...
