I just bought a 2007 6spd frontier with 7k mi I've been driving it around today, and I noticed it was hard to get into reverse is there a specific way to get it in I.E. 1st-2nd-reverse?
This is my first 6spd so any help is appreciated

This may seem like a dumb question, but are you pushing down on the shifter so it isn't locked out of rev.????

Better yet... are you pushing down on the clutch? ha!
My 2000 acts like that a little bit when going into 1st gear. I just drop it in one or two other random gears first. Like 3rd or 2nd. Then into 1st. But my truck is 8 years old and has 160k miles. It's not a new truck with 7k on it.
I'd head back to the dealership and driver another frontier. See if the transmission shifts the same or differently. If it's different then I'd call on the warranty and tell the dealership to fix it. If it's the same, then I'd suggest making sure you've got the clutch fully depressed, etc.
Cheers, :Isaac:

the 6speed is weird to get into reverse the easiest way to get it into reverse is to press the shifter all the way to the right as if shifting into 5th or 6th and then push the shifter down and then you will be about to go past 5th and 6th and then down into reverse

It took me a little while to figure out how to get mine in reverse right after I bought it. They didn't tell me I had to push down on the shift lever to get it to go. I was about to call the dealer up and blast them. I can't remember if I read in the manual or finally figured it out myself. I always back into my driveway so the evening I got it home there I was sitting in the road swearing my head off trying to get it into reverse and couldn't Finally it went but I couldn't figure out why. Anyway, now that I know what I'm doing it's not a problem anymore. Good luck.
