Please explain a little more on what you are calling a grill guard. Do you mean a full brush guard style, safari bar style or other type etc... If you post a picture of it, it would help us understand what exactly have.

On another note; the Frontier front EPDM bumper is a solid one piece apparatus and is shaped differently than the Xterra body style front bumper & clip. So I would say it wouldn't mount properly due to the different front bumper/body styles and/or sizes. However, if it mounts to the front frame horns the frames on 2001 to 2004 Frontier & Xterra are the same except for the overall wheel base lenghts.
