Well, what I thought would happen, did. Took the truck to the dealer and went on a 15 minute drive with the service manager, he said that he had a 4 cylinder that was just as bad. I said that having a shake that bad wasn't acceptable in a new Nissan and that he should not have to live with it either. We took his truck for the same ride and it was the same to worse than mine.
I insisted that he call Nissan, which he did. Their response is that it is a "harmonic resonance" that "some, but not many" had complained. So apparently it is the exhaust that is causing the problem and we are supposed to live with is...no isolation offered, just poor engineering of the exhaust, they are not even going to remedy it for the 2008 models.
I remember that in the eighties that VW had an exhaust problem, when customers complained, they mounted a braided stainless covered rubber connector that came with diesels and it fixed the problem. Not very happy with this, any ideas for a self fix???
