I have a 2003 Frontier crew cab XE V6.  I think I'm having heating/cooling issues. Twice in one week I turned the heater on in the AM after temp gauge indicated the engine was warmed up. After about 10 min all of a sudden the air got cold but the temp gauge didn't fluctuate.  about a month ago when weather was still hot my truck had been running about 20 min w/AC on. then all of a sudden the air became warm and my truck was acting as of overheating.  Coolant was ok, Oil was ok.  Turned off truck for about 45 min & then seemed to be ok.  Is the thermostat sticking or going out?  Any help would be greatly appreciated

..

pricha;

When the thermostat sticks closed the temperature gauge will climb toward hot until it opens.

... There is a door in the ductwork between the hot and cold cores. It is computer controlled and might be operated by vacuum. If the vacuum drops below a certain level the system may go berserk similar the clowns that designed it. In most vehicles the A/C is turned off during no vacuum times like WOT (Wide Open Throttle).

... The heat door is opened during the A/C use. Duh!!!

... The A/C is turned on with the defroster. Soon the driver will be designed out of the system and the vehicle will travel on it’s own sweet merry way.

Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S..

Corn Ethanol = Renewable Energy? BS

"When you take out more nutrients and organic matter from the soil than you put back in, you are "mining" the topsoil. The organic matter is especially important, since that’s what prevents erosion, improves soil structure, health, water retention, and gives the next crop its nutrition. Modern agriculture only addresses the nutritional component by adding fossil-fuel based fertilizers, and because the soil is unhealthy from a lack of organic matter, copes with insects and disease with oil-based pesticides."
