I have a 2006 frontier crew cab le 4x2 that i just bought about 3 weeks ago. Just about a week ago i have noticed an unusual clunking noise every time i hit a bump when i have the wheels turned. Has anyone know or have heard of this situation? i have a friend that had this problem too and has tried to go to the dealership but they couldn't find anything at all. I have also tried to look for it but no luck either. any help?

Pretty sure it is the steering limiter hitting when you turn, as the suspensin moves up and down it grinds across the limiter. Mine does the same thing and I dont have any broken linkages or parts. I have stared at the underside along time to figure it out.

I have a 2006 Crew Cab LE 4WD. I had a sqeaking/rattling noise that I though was the front suspension that turned out to be a body mount under the front bumper. Dealership said that even a minor bump can damage these and cause them to squeak. Hope this helps.

I have a 2006 CC 4X4...same problem...a little sqeak up front, and sometimes a clunk/rattle over bumps. Can't feel it in the steering of any pedals, but can sometimes get it to squeak if I rock the body by hand. Will have to wait for the ground to dry out so I can crawl under it....

I just got my 2006 CC back from dealership. They replaced what they called a front bumper retainer. Mine is an LE with the plastic front bumper cover. Tech said these retainers are very easily damaged and will rattle when going over small bumps. I purchased my truck mine used, so the previous owner must have hit something with the front bumper. Mine would also squeak if I rocked the truck. All is quiet now.

Hello, I have a similar problems with my 06 frontier LE 4x4. Every time you turn sharp to the right and hit a low spot or bump in the road, I have a loud nock that coming from the drivers side front end area. You can even feel mine through the steering wheel and pedals also. I've had it at the dealer two times and they replaced the shocks the first time and now they can't find anything wrong with it but the problem got worse with the new shocks. I'm getting told now but the dealer that the noise is suppossed to be there and theres nothing wrong with the truck. Now I'm no smart guy but I know there shouldn't be a noise like that coming from a new truck. Any help would be appreciated also.

My 2007 CREW CAB LONG BED 2WD does this sometimes, usually when I'm turning and pulling away from a stop sign. I'm kinda of use to it because my last truck was a 2002 silverado and it did this same thing (it did it all the time until I found the fix) The chevy dealer showed me how to fix temporary. They had a permanent fix, but I wasnt willng to pay $180. Eventhough it sounds and feels like its coming from under the vehicle in the suspension, it was coming from the steering shaft under the dash. There was a u-joint that was in a bind that you could spray with silicon and it would fix it for about 12000 miles. May be this is same problem with Nissan. I just never remember to check for it when I'm at home, because it only does it about twice a week.

I have the same problem as cool4x4man with my 2007 Nismo, but opposite sides. Every time you turn sharp to the left and hit a low spot or bump in
the road, I have a loud nock that coming from the passenger side front
end area. The dealer has looked at it once and couldn't find anything. It doesn't really happen all the time, so the dealer couldn't duplicate it. But, when it does happen it is very annoying, especially since I only have 10k on the truck purchased new. It almost seems like it is related to the sway bar, since I have to be turning and hit a bump only on one side to create the noise. It can be quite loud sometimes.
