Hi, Great forum! My 04' KC 4x4 3.3 Fronty has 55k miles now and has started to click pretty loud for about 3-5 seconds on startup. It only does it on startup when it has been sitting for a few hours. Is it an issue, should I do anything about it? it still runs great. We bought the silver warranty which goes up to 75k miles, would this be covered? Thanks, Tom

That would be your valves. This is normal, to a degree. The 3.3L has hydraulic lifters, and it usually takes a few seconds for oil to refill them. So what you're hearing is the camshaft actually pushing the lifter to it's full stroke, and finally forcing it to push on the valve. The tick is result of the rocker finally meeting the valve head. When the lifter is full, it pushes the rocker to just meet the vavle head, eliminating the noise.
