I have had problems with traction on wet streets, especially when starting out from an intersection.  My '05 Frontier SE 4x4, 4.0 engine, does not have a limited slip differential.  Does anyone know where I can find a limited slip for this truck?  (I have been searching for an aftermarket limited slip.)  The Nissan parts folks at the dealer said I would have to buy a complete rear axel from them if I wanted a Nissan limited slip.

Does anyone  have any ideas how to solve this problem, or know where I can locate an aftermarket limited slip for this model truck?

You shouldn't be having traction problems on paved sufaces at city speeds- maybe hydro-planing at high speeds but thats another matter.

IMO, limited slip diff. is mainly for off-road applications. If you are having these issues on city streets, your tires may be the culprit (or a heavy foot).

Check tread depth on your tires. You may have to replace your tires with others of a higher traction rating.

Your owners manual should have a section on tire ratings.

..

Phil;

... Check around at salvage yards for a rear end. Lightly applying the brakes will somes time help get traction from both rear wheels.

Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S..

I had the BFG Long Trails replaced with Firestone Dest A/Ts...

Huge difference.
