First off, I apologize if this has been posted before, but I can't find an answer anywhere.  Next, let me introduce myself at the same time.  My name is Aaron, I live in South Carolina and I currently own a 2005 Frontier SE Crew Cab.  I love my truck, but have some quirky things that I just can't understand about it.

Has anyone else had trouble with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System coming on when the tire pressure is normal in all four tires?  I notice that when the temperature outside drops to below freezing, the monitor comes on and it's getting very annoying.  I end up having to release the tire pressure to below normal and then adding pressure to all four tires to get them back to normal before the light on my dashboard will go back off.

I have seen some topics posted about the popping in the front end mainly when just starting out in first gear, but mostly I have just seen this for 4WD models and mine is just a 2WD model.  Any suggestions?

My battery has also corroded and has now corroded and has also corroded the metal strap that is installed across the top of the battery and the corrosion has eaten through the strap.  Has this happened to anyone else?  If so, what was the cure?

I also get a rattle in the dashboard in the center when I am driving and it's annoying me to find out where it's coming from and get it fixed.  Any ideas?

I should also mention that I did buy the truck new, I've had it since November 05 and I now have 21000 miles on it.  I just don't think that all of this should be happening at this low of a mileage.  I had an 89 Nissan Hardbody p/u before and I bought it used with 46000 miles on it and finally traded it at 150,000 miles still running strong with nothing ever needed other than preventive maintenance.

Anyone out there with any suggestions?

My battry is corroding as well...Had a mechanic tell me, don't know if it is
accurate or not, that it was doing this because the system was overcharging
the battery...

Anybody have any thoughts on the matter? Is this possible, and if so, what
should be done to correct it?

I had that problem, but sincei I was buying an Optima Red Top for my Bronco, I treated the Nissan to it too.  They sell this stuff call No-Co for corrosion.  I cleaned everything and sprayed it on there.  I havn'e had the first prolem yet and this was almost a year ago.  It doesn't really get cold enough here for extended periods of time for me to know about the tire pressure thing.  Sorry

Thanks for the comments!  What I don't understand, is the fact that my dealer never even told me about the corrosion and they would have to have the hood up to change the oil, right?  I had to bring it to their attention and was simply told that I would have to make an appointment to bring it back in and they would "research" the problem.

What a surprise huh?  Take the terminals off, clean real well, get some No-Co pads and put on the post themselves and spray the crap out of it with the No-Co spray.  You can also spray some on your fingers and tell your better half you cut yourself and need to soak it in cider

So, could the battery be overcharging, and that is why it is corroding?

I just simply cleaned up the terminals and coated them with vaseline  (a little trick I learned years ago when I worked as a mechanic) and have gone about 4 months now without them corroding again.  I have no idea what would have caused it to do that, or if it is actually overcharging.  I guess I'll find out in a couple of weeks when I take it in again for another oil change and tire rotation/balance since I will be getting them to look at the other problems that I'm having.  They may be minor problems, but I paid for a new truck and I better get "new truck service".
