I have a 4 banger 2k1 frontier. I have had it to the dealer numerous times because of a load pop that occurs whenever i come to a stop, start to excelerate, or change the angle of the vehicle, like when going onto a driveway. Anyway the dealer says it is the torsion arms.... and they cant fix it. has anyone else had this problem?

I experience the same problem. Very audible when turning slowly (left or right).  I often also hear it when braking.  No visits to the shop though.  the sound has not intensified in the year and half i have owned.  i will have to research tortion arms.  sounds like a nissan design flaw. keep posted.

I got a popping sound when turning left.  Left only, no sound with suspension travel or anything else.  I'm tightening up some loose suspension parts (idler/pitman arm)  see if that fixes it.  Will inform on results. Oh yea, its a 2000 Crew Cab SE.

I had the EXACT same problem.

It's a 2 part problem one being the dealer, the other being a bolt.

I was on good terms with my dealer so they would "grease" my Torsion bar for Free everytime I came in for an oil change.  Though I couldn't believe that was their answer to the problem.

But I found out later on, there's a bolt somewhere under the vehicle that comes loose, and just adding a lock-washer on there solves the problem I believe.

Here is my old thread, it must have been on the 4x4parts.com forum read about the bolt.  I traded my Frontier in a couple of years back, and checked everything out once, but didn't really find anything.  But there was a few good tips of places to look.
