Both times I've towed, I've towed well over the 3000 lbs mark. First time was a 6x12 trailer filled, along with my bed. The second was my friend's 84 RX-7.
It could be interesting trying to get the trailer out of the water. I made it up a very steep onramp when I was towing that 6x12.
BTW... if you plan to tow that boat very often, I would look into some helper springs. It will help keep the rear end from sinking, there by helping your driveablitlty.
