I am debating on whether or not to buy a 16-18 travel trailer.  I have an 03 Fronty with the 3.3, auto and it is the crewcab shortbed.  I have a class 5 reciever hitch installed.  My book says I can tow up to 5,000lbs with a tongue wieght of 490lbs.  The trailer I am looking at weighs between 2200-2400lbs, with a tongue weight of 290lbs.   In theory I should tow this with little to no problems.  I would install a tranny cooler and brake controller on the truck and run a sway control hitch.  What do you guys think? Can i really tow this or should I wait till I buy my fullsize truck 3-4 years from now.  Oh yeah I would only tow this trailer maybe 5-10 weekends a year. And it would be about 150-200 mile trips over a mountain pass.
