My Swagman bike rack extends the hitch ball back a couple of feet.  Consequently when I tow my camper, the tongue weight is so far back it causes the rear of the truck to be pushed down.  I thought of adding extra springs, but that would give me a harsh ride for the 95% of the time I'm not towing things.  Air bags could allow me to adjust the support for my conditions.  But I remember having air shocks on a '70 Mustang (way back in time), which constantly leaked.  Has anyone had experience with Firestone Ride Rite air bags on the Frontier?  Any other ideas?

Air bags today are 100 times better than the old air shocks of yester years.  I know a lot of people around here with Ford Super Duties and other full size trucks who use the air bag setup to assist while towing.

Another option is the passive assist spring setup.  These bolt onto your rear shocks, but don't actively help till the rear end has weight on it.  I believe 4wheelparts.com carries them.
